Florida Plein Air is a Go
When planning this move, one of the things I was concerned with was whether the supports I was used to in Columbus could be accessed here in Jacksonville. Thankfully my plein air worries are over. The First Coast Plein Air group is a fantastic and inviting group, and a bit of a change from the group in Ohio(Central Ohio Plein Air). This group covers a bit more ground (NE Florida and SE Georgia), and plein air painting restrictions; no painting in tourist areas, no blocking the sidewalks, etc. They also had a painting demonstration by the inimitable Gary Garrett, who did an amazing acrylic landscape.
Looking forward to joining up with these folks and improving my skills, there are some fantastic individuals here. Next, I need to find or set up and Urban Sketchers chapter here. Take care everyone and happy creating!
