A quick portrait I did for World Watercolor Month. I was in a Hendrix mood.
Sylvester McCoy, the Seventh Doctor. I have an affection for each of the incarnations of the Doctor (from Doctor Who) but McCoy was the first one whom I followed that transition, searching for magazines from England with updates on the show. No internet, so it was a lot of word of mouth.

For this Houdini portrait, I used ultramarine/burnt umber at different mixes and dilutions. For the eyes I mixed a purple, then topped it off with a burnt orange background, to make the face pop a bit.
I was working on painting close ups of eyes. Here is one of mine.
